In 2025, our company partnered with the Japanese Snoopy brand to customize and manufacture a multi-functional microwave cooking pot for them. Snoopy is one of the most influential cartoon characters in the Japanese market. According to market data, Snoopy's sales in Japan grew by over 200% between 2010 and 2017, and by 2018, revenue from the Japanese market accounted for more than 41% of its global revenue. This IP enjoys enduring appeal among Japanese consumers—a 2014 market survey showed that Snoopy ranked third among "owned cartoon characters," second only to Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh.

Brand Introduction

Snoopy originated from the comic strip "Peanuts" created by American cartoonist Charles Schulz in 1950 and officially entered the Japanese market in the late 1960s. Sony has been the exclusive distributor of Snoopy in Japan since 2009 and acquired approximately 39% of the shares of the copyright management company in 2018, driving the continued development of this IP in the Japanese market.
In Japan, the image of Snoopy is closely associated with everyday life. From television commercials for Morinaga & Co. in the 1970s to image licensing on Aomori Bank passbooks and livery on ANA aircraft, Snoopy's licensing business covers multiple sectors including food, finance, aviation, and retail. Currently, there are over 20 Snoopy Town specialty stores and numerous themed cafes throughout Japan.

Project Requirements

We outlined two core requirements for the Snoopy brand:
1.Product Customization: The appearance of the microwave multi-functional cooking pot must reflect Snoopy's brand identity. The main color of the product will be customized according to the brand's specified color code, with the Snoopy logo and pattern silkscreened on the front and lid. The logo's position, size, and color are clearly defined and require brand approval before mass production.
2.Packaging: The color box will be designed according to the Snoopy brand visual manual, with the Snoopy logo printed on the front, sides, and top. Standard constraints exist for the color box material, printing color difference, and minimum logo size.

Process Solution

The product logo will be printed using silkscreen printing. The screen-printing silicone (organic silicone material) has a -Si-O- main chain structure, lacking double bonds, making it less susceptible to decomposition by ultraviolet light and ozone, and exhibiting superior thermal stability compared to most polymer materials. We verified this in the following aspects:
1. Temperature Resistance Test: After screen printing, the silicone was baked and cured at 120-150℃, achieving the required adhesion. The sample was continuously microwaved on high for 30 minutes; the logo showed no softening, peeling, or discoloration.
2. Adhesion Test: According to the cross-cut adhesion test standard, after cutting, the tape peeled off, and the coating peeling area was less than 5%.
3. Scratch Resistance Test: A standard test head was used to apply 500g of force for repeated rubbing; the logo remained clearly legible.
The color box printing uses environmentally friendly water-based ink, and its temperature resistance meets the requirements of the packaging heat-sealing process (no discoloration or adhesion within the 121-150℃ range).

Value of the Collaboration

This collaboration validated two of our capabilities:
1. Customization Response Capability: From color matching to silkscreen printing parameter settings, we were able to complete product implementation within the brand's standard framework, eliminating the need for repeated sampling and modifications.
2. Quality Control and Delivery Capability: The logo silkscreen printing position deviation for 5000 products was controlled within ±0.5mm, the color difference of the color box ΔE ≤ 1.5, and there were no customer complaints during bulk delivery.
